One for the Record Books

The 2016-17 Eastview boys left their mark on the Lightning record books.  There were several individual feats, but it all starts with team.  Eastview scored 1821 points on the season, the third highest in team history, and scored the 7th highest in a game against Park, going for 89.  Their defense held Minneapolis South to 25% shooting, 2nd best all time.  The 238 3-pointers made for the season is 3rd highest on record, and they had games of 18, 15, and 14 3-pointers, which is #1, tied for #2, and tied for #5.

Individually, season and career marks were set in many categories.  Jameson Bryan scored 540 points this year, the 3rd best for the season, and 1179 for his career, also 3rd best.  Mason Carpenter finished his career with 746 points, good for #10 all-time.  Bryan ended up with 341 rebounds, #4 for career rebounds, while Carpenter finished at the #8 spot with 282.  Bryan also finished #5 in steals for a season with 73 and 3rd for a career with 168.  Derek Larson finished tied for 3rd in charges taken with 12, which is also 6th in the career spot.  Jameson Bryan spent a lot of time at the free throw line.  His 133 made free throws is good enough for 3rd in a season, and his 285 made is 2nd best career.  He also finished #9 in free throw percentage for a season at 82.6% and #9 in his career at 76.4%.  Mason Carpenter’s 41.2% career 3-point percentage is good enough for 8th all time.  Brady Miller dropped 58 3-pointers on the season, which is the 5th most, and Jameson Bryan made 112 in his career, which is 6th most.  Mason Carpenter’s 142 career 3-pointers is #2 all time.  Jameson Bryan finished the year with 144 assists, the 4th most for a season.

Three records fell this year!  Mason Carpenter made 88 3-pointers on the season – tied for #1, and made 10 3-pointers in one game, good enough for #1!  And Jameson Bryan finished his career with 477 assists, which puts him in the top spot.

Congratulations to the 2016-17 Eastview Lightning – defenders, passers, and a whole lot of shooters.  This season was definitely #OurMoment!

Lightning Fall to Rosemount in Section Semi's

The season came to an end on Friday night for the Lightning boys, losing 60-55 to Rosemount in the section semifinals. Eastview shot out early with Jameson Bryan scoring 17 of the first 21 points.  The Irish used their size to get back in it though, pounding the ball inside causing matchup problems.  The game went back and forth in the second half, with Tate Machacek and Brady Miller both scoring 7 in a row to keep the Lightning close.  Rosemount made the last run, however, and hit their free throws closing out the game.  Only 4 Lightning scored, led by Bryan with 26, Miller 13, Machacek and Mason Carpenter finished with 8.  Bryan, Miller, and Carpenter all had 4 rebounds, and Izaak Raspberry had 3.  Bryan had 4 assists and 2 steals, and Miller had 2 steals as well.  The Lightning have plenty to be proud of this season, with many records falling.  The leadership of this senior class will reap benefits for seasons to come.  And, this season will be remembered for its dedicated Super Fans.  Congratulations all!  #OurMoment
