The JV team won 67-46 against Farmington on Friday. A slow start by the Lightning offense in the first half saw them down as much as 10 early on, but started to heat up to take a 27-23 half time lead. A stifling defense allowed only four field goals in the second half and the offense took off when Mike Franchino hit two straight 3-pointers for the Lightning. Max Bolger led the offense with 16 points, Mike Franchino with 13 points, Brady Miller had 12 points, and Derek Larson with 11 points.

The JV team lost a close one to Apple Valley 76-71 on Friday night. A high scoring contest saw both teams push the tempo trading baskets in transition. Down by as many as 16 points in the second half, the Lightning hot shooting cut the lead to 2 points with one minute remaining, but Apple Valley held on for the win. Tate Machacek scored 20 points with his inside/outside game. Max Bolger and Derek Larson each tallied 13 points, while Mike Franchino scored 10 points.
