The Legacy of the 2015-16 Lightning

By Webmaster 02/28/2016, 8:00pm CST

It was a record-breaking year!

The 2015-16 Lightning had many great shooting performances and broke a couple of records.  Here are some team and individual highlights:

The team made 284 three pointers, the most on record, and scored 1,982 points, the 2nd most.  Twice they had 15 three-pointers in a game, which is an Eastview record, and three times had 14.  The Lightning opened the season scoring 93 points against Hastings, the 2nd most for a game.

Senior Sean Ryan finished the season with 535 points, 4th most all-time in a season, and finished his career with 984 points, 6th in Eastview history.  He also finished the season with a record 89.1% free-throw percentage, and an 85.1% career percentage which is 2nd best all-time.  His career three-point percentage of 42.3 is 5th best.  Sean had 70 three-pointers on the season and 141 for his career, both good for 2nd place all time.  Sean also had many top 10 games for shooting and scoring, most notably his 46-point game against Prior Lake.

Senior Martin Mitchell finished his career with a record free-throw percentage of 87.7%.  His season percent of 88.1% is #2 all time (he is also 4th on the list with his 86.8% last year).  Martin took 10 charges this year, 4th most for a season, and 20 for his career, which is 3rd most.

Senior Connor Stevens also made the free-throw percentage top tens, shooting 83% this season, 8th best ever, and 82.2% career, which is the 4th best.

Junior Jameson Bryan had 147 assists for the season, 3rd best all time, and moved up to 2nd place in career assists with 333.

Junior Mason Carpenter finished the season with 52 three-pointers, which is 6th most on record.

The Lightning of 2015-16 and the class of 2016 left their legacy in the record books.  The seniors had a great impact on the underclassman and will be missed.  Congrats on the great accomplishments!

Season Ends Too Soon

By Webmaster 02/24/2016, 10:15pm CST

The Lightning started slow and fell behind early to Burnsville.  Cold shooting was the theme in the first half, and Burnsville pulled out to a 14 point lead.  Eastview kept fighting and with just a few minutes left, tied the game up.  It wasn't meant to be, however, as the Blaze made a couple buckets down the stretch for the 70-67 win.  Jameson Bryan led the scoring with 20 points, Sean Ryan had 15 and Martin Mitchell also had double figures with 10.  Also scoring were Mason Carpenter with 9, Connor Stevens with 8, Julius Henry and Tate Machacek with 2, and Raevon Davis with 1.  THANK YOU to our Seniors for a GREAT SEASON!  Many milestones were met and records broken.  It ended too soon but there's much to be proud of!  #AiP
