Eastview raced out to a 25-10 lead halfway through the first half led by Essam Ibrahim's 15 points. But the Eagles battled back and took a 35-33 lead into the half.
The teams continued to battle back and forth in the second half with no team leading by more than 8 points.
With EP clinging to a 4 point lead with under two minutes to play, the Lightning missed 4 straight lay ups that could have pushed them back ahead.
EP hit their FTs to push the final score to 71-62. Ibrahim led all scorers with 25 and Will Barry chipped in 8. The Lightning are back in action vs. Eagan next Tuesday to open conference play.
