EASTVIEW 6th MAN CLUB
MEETING MINUTES
February 8, 2010
Jim Narum welcomed everyone to our snowy February booster meeting; thanks to those who ventured out. Jim introduced the newly elected officers:
Jim Narum-President, Jay Schlosser-Vice President, Tom Wessel-Treasurer and Secretary-voting on Carolyn Oberfeld.
Financial Update
Tom Wessel thanked outgoing Treasurer Mark Losee for his efforts last year and the creation of spreadsheet templates to make this transition easy. Budget and planning was kept in line and now the booster club is looking financially healthy again. Concessions had its biggest night with over $1,000 in revenue. Along with that the booster club was able to donate $127 of cookies sales to the Angel Foundation for Voices of Hope. Previously, our coaches vs cancer cookie fundraiser took in $72. Most of the revenue has been taken in for the year but we are expecting to finish up a few Free Throw a Thon pledges yet. Great job to the Freshman for bringing in $2,955. The Sophomore FTAT should commence soon.
Upcoming Events
Feb. 9 Tuesday's game vs Chaska: $1 Dew night at the concessions for a promotion.
Feb. 19 Food Shelf: Jodi Ulrich is heading up the donations for the Dakota County Food Shelf. She has invited Lakeville North to participate in the event as we host them that night.
March 5 Senior Night: Planning and events are being tasked out.
March 7 Freshman Banquet: Event taking place at Green Mill in Eagan.
April 10-11 MYAS Hosted Tournament: Jay Schlosser is managing this and all EVHS courts are reserved. Volunteer schedules will be put together as we receive more info.
April 11 JV/Varsity Banquet: Will need to discuss the details around this at next month's meeting.
Misc
Jim Narum asked the booster club to vote on Carolyn Oberfeld for the Secretary position. The vote was unanimously approved.
The booster club will take a look at the finances of the club and possibly vote to add back the second $500 scholarship we removed last year.
Russ Otto will document all the website information so it will be passed on to the notes of the club as well as Mike Oberfeld who will be managing the site now.
Coach Comments
There was a brief discussion around Friday nights events and the next season commitments for the booster club's financial planning. It appears that Duluth is coming to EVHS next season, but there may be some other non-conference trips and tournaments that will need to be looked at. The meeting adjourned around 8:00 p.m.
Watch for EVHS Daily Announcements for the March booster meeting (typically the first Monday of the month.)
