JV Wins Against Lakeville South

The JV team won at home against Lakeville South 54-52 last Tuesday. A slow start saw the Lightning scoring their first points 5 minutes into the game, but the defensive side shut down the Cougars to 18 first half points. A mix of full court pressure defense and great rebounding were the keys to victory for the Lightning. David Fuse led the offense with 21 points and Raevon Davis added 14 points for the win. The Lightning now 11-11 overall and 9-8 in conference will play the final game of the season against Shakopee on Friday. Go Lightning!

JV Falls in Tough Game at Lakeville North

The JV boys basketball team lost a tough battle with Lakeville North, 59-45 on Thursday night. The Lightning started fast out of the gates building a 17-4 lead early on. A cold shooting streak for the Lightning and strong inside game for the Panthers evened the score at the half. The Lightning moved the ball well on offense in the second half, but the shots wouldn’t fall as the Panthers pulled away for the win. David Fuse paced the Lightning with 14 points and Connor Stevens added 12 points in one half of play. The JV squad is 10-7 overall on the season and 8-4 in conference play. Next up is an away game at Rosemount on Tuesday.

JV Wins at Eagan

The JV team came away with a win last Friday at Eagan, 59-58.  A tale of two halves had the Lightning out to a quick lead in the first half and building up to a 17 point lead in the second half before the Wildcats fought back to tie the game with 11 seconds left.  A foul put David Fuse to the line, who converted on one of two free throws to give the Lightning the victory.  Fuse finished with a team high 18 points and Raevon Davis added 15 points in the victory.
