Congratulations to the Lightning on a Great Season!

Awards Presented at Year-End Banquet

The Lightning boys basketball team held their post season banquet Monday night, March 30th, and there were many accolades to go around.  Each player bought into a "team first" mentality, and as a team they tripled their win total from last year.  The team had big wins against eventual state champion Apple Valley, 3A runner-up St. Paul Johnson, and swept defending state champion Lakeville North.  It was a great season!

Congratulations to unanimous All-Conference players:  Keegan Dickson, Drew Guebert, and Sean Ryan

Congratulations also to the All-Conference Honorable Mention players:  Alex Bangh, Jameson Bryan, and Martin Mitchell.

In addition, a nice honor to Coach Goetz as he was selected the 3AAAA coach of the year!

The Roger Thompson trophy award winners were Drew Guebert for top rebounder and Martin Mitchell for best free throw percentage.  Martin also won the 170 Shooting Award (the best sum of field goal percentage, 3-point percentage and free throw percentage).

The Academic Award – given to the senior with the highest GPA – went to Drew Guebert

Best Defender – Ronnie  Norton

Season Ends for the Lightning

Eastview's season came to an end Wednesday night with a 61-59 loss.  Nine different players scored for the Lightning, with Keegan Dickson leading the way, scoring 16 points and grabbing 8 rebounds.  Sean Ryan was also in double figures with 13 points.  Alex Bangh and Drew Guebert both had 6 boards, and Jameson Bryan had 4 assists.  Keegan, Drew, Alex, Obi, and Ronnie ended their Lightning career with a season to be proud of.  They tripled their win total from last season while establishing a toughness and winning attitude that the underclassman can grow and build on.  Thank you for representing Eastview with CLASS.  RiseAsOne!

Lightning Finish #3 in Conference

The Lightning boys fell to Shakopee Friday night, 72 – 80.  It was a back-and-forth contest all game, with each team trading blows.  The Sabers made a few more plays down the stretch and held on despite Eastview making a school record 15 three pointers.  Drew Guebert had 21 points (5 of those 3-pointers ) and 5 rebounds.  Sean Ryan finished with 20, including 6 e3pointers.  Keegan Dickson had 12 points, and Jameson Bryan also had 12 points along with 6 assists.  The Lightning finished the regular season at 18-8, 3rd place in the South Suburban Conference.  Eastview will host Rosemount on Wednesday night (7:00pm) in the first round of the section playoffs.  Come JAM THE GYM and cheer your boys to victory!  RISE AS ONE!
